Royal has been shown and won in Working Cow Horse competitions, as well as Trail, Halter, Western Pleasure and reining. Royal and Dale went on to the Canadian Supreme Working Cow Horse where he placed third in his herd work and fourth in the reining. At the Claresholme Super Stakes in 2003 he won the top 10 final go round. Royal again went to the Canadian Supreme in 2003 and showed wonderfully, ending up just one hole out of the money.
In 2003 Royal went on to Agribition's Canada's Greatest Horse competition. Being a four-year-old he was the youngest horse in the competition by two years. An empty loop put him out of the top 5 bonus round.
Royal was started on barrels by CPRA barrel racer, Rusty Quam, and was a money earner/series winner in barrel racing with limited showing his first season out.
Royal has proven his versatility, and he pocesses all of the qualities that make a great sire: Conformation, Speed, Pedigree, Athletic abiltiy, Dispositoin, Style, Colour, and Cow sense.
